I like to wander my veggie patch around sunset to gather greens for my salad. At the Yandina Community Garden I discovered Kang Kong. This plant grows easily in the sub-tropics in well composted soil and tastes like mushy peas. As you can see a grasshopper has nibbled this specimen. Not that I mind, there is enough for everyone.
Salad – combine the following:
Half a cup of Kang Kong leaves
1 cup of baby spinach
1 sprig of basil leaves
4 nasturtium leaves ripped up
Squeeze half a mandarin or any citrus to taste
Decorate with nasturtium flowers (also edible but I find it hard to convince people to eat flowers!)
